The transformation of a former industrial site into an award-winning contemporary residential development close to Hertford town centre.
DHA drew inspiration from the site's industrial heritage to develop a distinctive architectural response, with the form, materials and detailing of the new buildings reflecting the character of the site's former use.
The relatively intensive development responds creatively to the site's steeply sloping topography, incorporating undercroft parking and first-floor amenity decks to make efficient use of the available land while providing high-quality external space for residents.
The quality of the scheme was recognised with the WhatHouse? Gold Award for Best Brownfield Development, and the project was subsequently featured in the Best of British Homes publication.
