DHA designed three residential phases within Elvetham Heath, a major extension to Fleet comprising more than 1,900 new homes delivered by a number of housebuilders.
The established masterplan divided the development into individual parcels, each with its own distinct architectural character connected by a central infrastructure route. DHA responded to this framework by developing a clear and individual identity for each of its phases, while contributing to the character of the wider neighbourhood.
The first phase drew inspiration from Victorian and Edwardian cottages, while the second adopted influences from Victorian railway architecture within a more formal townscape. Carefully considered details, including leadwork canopies and black steelwork, reinforced the architectural character and gave each phase a distinctive sense of place.
